dual consciousness

In coming to terms with the idea that first, God is everywhere; second, “He that is IN (my caps) you is greater than he that is in the world”, it occurs to me that I have this consciousness of being in the world. My senses communicate to me the “reality” of the physical senses. When I operate from this perspective, He that is in me is not taken into account, and I respond only to the world outside myself.

Now, I get that there is another option: The God or Universal Consciousness that is in me and everyone else. We not only have access to this, it is responding to everything we think at all times.
“Do unto others..” takes on more profound meaning here. “Whatsoever you do to the least…”!! God is in every single atom of creation. If I perceive any part of creation separate from me, I am percieving my separation from God. Now, understand that God is never actually separate from anyone, ever, but my perception of separation requires me to operate from separation, and therefore that is what I experience.

I believe that it is possible to have the dual consiousness of experiencing my self as myself, yet one with the universe (God). My separateness allows me to interact with others, act out my physical desires, experience this “reality”, and contribute to the evolution of our world. My oneness enables me to do all of this with love and gratitude, humility and grace. The oneness also relieves me of any necessity for judgement. I can let God take care of all that.

Practical Application

The hardest part about the application of the law of attraction to my life has been the understanding and integration of the idea that everything that I have experienced so far, I have attracted to myself.  I try  to rationalize that since it’s been mostly unconscious, it’s not my fault.  The tendency is to be offended about the idea that I have attracted undesireable things and now have to take responsibility for them.  But this is the very thing that opens the door (gates of heaven).  Once I open this door and am now responsible for everything in my life, I am no longer a victim of it.

The way that I have attracted anything is by attention to it with an element of feeling or emotion (“believe that you recieve”).  Now, by taking charge of my feelings and emotions (and taking back that power to regulate them from other people, places and things), I get to attract on purpose only those things I choose!  Feeling good attracts to me only those things that make me feel good, so now I have the perfect excuse to feel good no matter what else is going on!  If you tell me something sad, I will only find the silver lining.  I’m sorry if you really wanted to make me feel bad, but it is my choice (as it is your own for you).

“God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”  Abiding in love (God) now becomes sensible.  “He that is in you is greater than he who is in the world” and abiding in God (love) becomes the constant intention, and the best reason to choose joy at any given moment.

My husband and I are having so much fun with this:  things that were good excuses to be pissed off are now sources of laughter.  We take ourselves way less seriously, and are looking at things with new delight.  This also affords a level of gratitude that had been somehow missing from our lives before.

Gratitude is another really great focus that precipitates positive change.  Be blessed.

spinning

I spin wool primarily (other fibers to a lesser degree), and have recently attended the popular spinner’s and weaver’s event in Maryland. After amassing a large quantity of diverse fibers, I’ve pretty much not done anything else lately. When asked “what will you make with that?” My usual response is, “I’m not sure, it will tell me what it wants to be.” Mostly it wants to be socks, hats mittens, shawls. Mostly they become warmers to my children and grandchildren and other extended family members and friends.

This morning I was marveling at my great fortune in acquisition, spinning this dreamy merino top in a “roses and ashes” multicolor, realizing that the things I do mirror the purpose of my life. As I bring fibers together, draughting them and allowing them to slip through my fingers and wind around each other to form itself into something useful, I consider the fibers of my life; conditions, situations, relationships; how they come together under my guidance (attraction, allowance) and as they slip through my fingers with a minimum of direction (draught), are miraculously transformed into new situations, conditions and relationships (or new levels, dimensions of existing ones).

The wool fibers are transformed into garments that then hold (and warm) feet, hands, heads and shoulders of those most important to me in my life. As it is my aspiration to shine light and love as well as I can, I am inadvertantly translating those thoughts into things that hold and communicate on that deepest of levels God’s love and light.

The word effortlessly comes again to mind. I am doing always what I love to do, and now consciously integrating the very purpose of my being. What we truly desire to achieve is not some illusive occurrence in the future. It happens simultaneously with everything we do. Right now.

popular law

It has become apparent that I have attracted into my life the very literature that teaches me that we attract into our lives everything that we experience. Being embroiled in stuff New Age for the last fifteen or twenty years sometimes had me rejecting my roots in Christianity, and disregarding the Bible. At some point I began to see not only a correlation between and among new age and holy stuff, but also desired to see them emerge as sources of the same information.

They are. While reading “The Secret” and “The Law of Attraction”, even when not mentioned, I flashed on scripture that supports these concepts. Then I found a book that actually sites scripture while describing the utilization of this universal law. I desired for all this information to come together and have meaning from all perspectives and it has revealed itself to be so.

Because of our original perspective of “knowledge of good and evil”, a convoluted process of reorganizing our thought processes is necessary. But I believe that consideration of a perspective that does not concern itself with opposites like good and evil, likes and dislikes, etc, will relieve me of necessity to judge, and thearefore free me up to focus on feeling all my aspirations realized (the mountain moved), and it is so (Amen). Be blessed.

Amazing Authors

I’m going to reference some of my favorite books and authors, but understand that this is just the tip of the iceberg. A long time ago, I read a book by Henry Reed, “Mysteries of the mind” which is a study of the possibilities inherent in our phsychology of thinking. He got his base understanding from the readings of Edgar Cayce. From there I was drawn to more and more work that came out of those readings. John Van Auken has written an amazing correlation between the Book of Revelation and our creative energy processes. Mark Thurston, Harmon Bro, Robert Grant, Elsie Sechrist, Kevin Todechi and , of course, Hugh Lynn Cayce, just to name a few, have all done groundbreaking work in uncovering concepts from the readings that not only apply to our evolution of consciousness, but contribute invaluably.

Some other authors that have inspired me are the Dalai Lama, Greg Braden, Paul Ferrini, Wayne Dyer, Marianne Williamson, Hugh Prather (and others inspired by the Course in Miracles), Neville, Yehuda Berg (and other works on Kabbalah).

Books about Quantam Physics (for the layperson), the holographic universe, the speed of light, etc., are extremely helpful in getting a handle on a more realistic perspective. So much of what we base our view of the world on is fragmented understanding of the actual physical reality and the impact we actually have on it with our mind. Scientists have known for decades that you cannot observe anything without affecting it!!

A great one-nighter: “The Four Agreements” by Miguel Ruiz. To help understand how and why we see the way we do. Love and blessings.

now I’ll get going

I’ve recently watched and read “the secret”. This is an extremely empowering work. The concepts are not new, and there have been many people in the past (and distant past) who have come to realize them. I am counting myself among them, now.

My first clue came from the New Testament. “When you pray, believe that you receive.”(Matt) But this same concept is revealed in many other sacred scripts. Buddah said, “What we are is a result of what we have thought.” Same thing, only “what we have thought” could have been unconscious, whereas “believe that you receive” indicates conscious participation. To “pray without ceasing” is just mindful thinking. If we remember to pay attention to our thoughts, and only hold the ones that are loving and grateful, we can get back to parpdise in the “blink of an eye”.

what(the bleep)do we know?

In response to yesterday’s comment from Madeline (see post script): If you have in your possession any of Burke’s work, hold on to it for me.

Remember that everything that we do and think about here, including the identifications, classifications, judgements, and conclusions are all within the confines of the “knowledge of good and evil.” Making those same assessments from the paradise perspective will have way different results.

Also, trying to unknow a thing is assuredly ridiculous. But if you are continuously learning, and being open to new ideas, there are unlimited opportunities for re-evaluating what you already know for new interpretations and expanded/different applications. In other words, each time you learn something new, everything you already knew before changes or shifts a little bit to take on more dimensions.

P.S. Madeline is my amazing daughter who is ABD in Syracuse. Her PhD will be in some vague writing thing and she also blogs: academom.syr.edu

reality of contrast

When trying to process the idea that knowing “good and evil” is the basis for everything (and I mean everything) we do, think and be (are), it is imperative to realize that “good and evil” is representative of all contrast. In the material realm, nothing can be known without the acknowledgement of it’s polar opposite. In paradise we have the coin, but are not concerned with heads or tails. (“Having” might also be a questionable concept since all is provided, and NOT having is unknown.)

Thing is, everything is energy and all comes from the same source–whatever you call it. I like to call it God, but sometimes the word conjures up a common concept to which I do not subscribe. In scripture, after God created everything, “he” looked, and said “It is good.” There was only bad after we ate the apple.

My next step is to spit it out. I’m sure that Jesus had this in mind. The big difference between us and him is that he was NOT born with original sin, so did not operate from the perspective of “knowledge of good and evil”. Most of his teachings can be interpreted to mean: “Choose again.”

Paul said to “put on the mind of Christ.” If the mind of Christ transcended the “knowledge of good and evil” it sort of changes the meaning of everything he said. We, however, view the things he taught from within those confines, and have maybe grossly misinterpreted the “good news.”

The nuns taught me that God closed the gates of heaven when Adam and Eve ate the fruit. Then when Jesus came into the earth, the gates were reopened. Other than ‘we get to put the apple back’, what? Give this “knowledge” back. Let this “knowledge” go. Operate from a perspective that doesn’t limit us with this “knowledge”.

The poet, Rumi wrote: “Out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” This was a really long time ago.

What is “paradise perspective?”

I’ve spent the last 40 years seeking.  With a catholic upbringing, I had basic Christian values and perspectives.  The questions that took me far afield were the regular ones at first.  I “fell away” and sought meaning from other perspectives.  Many make sense, but all fell equally short of my goal, which is “WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?”.

I believe that in paradise, before the fall, we experienced our connectedness on a conscious level.  Everything we needed and wanted was provided by the law of attraction.  After Eve ate the apple and convinced Adam to do also (women are more amenable to change), our perspective was altered.  The pain and suffering that ensued thereafter might be the result of this new perspective (knowledge of good and evil) as opposed to God’s punishment for “eating the apple”.

My purpose here is to open discussion concerning this revelation, and how the giving up of the “knowledge of good and evil” could be the very “salvation” we are hoping to accomplish.

Also, my desire for discussion is not satisfied or even tolerated where I live.  Four of my favorite people have told me in so many words that they are not interested in such discussions.  One even said I make her exhausted.
